Title
A MOTION authorizing the King County executive to accept a donation of real property located at 1514 and 1520 NE 146th Street, in the city of Shoreline, located in council district one, to King County.
Body
WHEREAS, a property owner, Mary T. Sheehan, desires to donate her property located at 1514 and 1520 NE 146th Street, in the city of Shoreline, assessor's parcel numbers 367050-0250 and 367050-0255, to King County for a public purpose, specifically for a behavioral health facility that will serve the public and meet applicable local code and zoning requirements, and
WHEREAS, in consideration of the conveyance of the gift property, King County shall pursue and endeavor to develop, as city permitting will allow, and construct a behavioral health facility on the property, and
WHEREAS, the desire is to provide a facility to that will deliver therapeutic responses to behavioral health crises, provide treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions, or otherwise promote mental health and wellbeing and integrated physical and behavioral health care, and
WHEREAS, the gift agreement includes a list of potential facilities that are representative of a behavioral health facility, and
WHEREAS, if King County determines that development of a behavioral health facility on the property is not feasible, then sale proceeds from any future disposition of the property shall fund a behavioral health facility at another location, either through the development of another site via a capital project or supporting operational costs at an existing facility, and
WHEREAS, the city of Shoreline has provided a letter to the county stating its support of this donation by Mary T. Sheehan, and expressed their commitment to work with the county to develop the real property to meet the intent, and
WHEREAS, K.C.C. 2.80.010 requires King County council to accept gifts, bequests and donations, of more than two thousand dollars by motion, ...
