Title
A MOTION authorizing the Seattle-King County department of public health to accept the donation of two hundred fifty thousand dollars to be used for the nurse family partnership in the maternity support services program.
Body
      WHEREAS, every child born in King County deserves the opportunity for a healthy start in life, and
      WHEREAS, the nurse family partnership provides education and intensive support for first-time, low-income pregnant women and mothers age twenty-three and under, and
      WHEREAS, it is important to provide adequate funding for nurse family partnership, and
      WHEREAS, the state budget crisis has impacted funding for the nurse family partnership, and
      WHEREAS, an anonymous donor wishes to donate two hundred fifty thousand dollars to keep the nurse family partnership program healthy in this time of financial insecurity, and
      WHEREAS, the donation will allow the nurse family partnership program to continue to serve the same number of women despite budget cuts, and
      WHEREAS, the Seattle-King County department of public health and the nurse family partnership would like to accept the donation of two hundred fifty thousand dollars from the anonymous donor;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The Seattle-King County department of public health is authorized to accept the donation of two hundred fifty thousand dollars from the anonymous donor.
