BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. A. Section 2 of this ordinance authorizes the superior court to charge a registration fee of seventy-five dollars for each individual who attends a parenting seminar after sixty days of filing for dissolution of marriage, legal separation, noncustody actions and other parentage actions in which parentage has been established, and a fee of forty dollars for individuals who attend the parenting seminar before sixty days of the filings. Retained revenues shall be used to support operating costs associated with family court operations.
B. The fees are authorized under RCW 26.12.220 and King County superior court Local Family Rule 13(c).
NEW SECTION. SECTION 2. There is hereby added to K.C.C. chapter 4.72 a new section to read as follows:
The superior court is hereby authorized to charge a parenting seminar registration fee of forty dollars per participant for those who attend the parenting seminar within sixty days of filing the action that results in the requirement to attend the seminar; participants who attend the seminar after sixty days of the filing shall be charged a registration fee of seventy-five dollars. Retained revenues shall be used to support operating costs associated with family court operations.
SECTION 3. This ordinance takes effect January 1, 2011.
