A MOTION accepting the children and family law justice center predesign report.

      WHEREAS, Ordinance 15601 approved the superior court targeted operational master plan in September 2006, and
      WHEREAS, as required by K.C.C. 4.04.200, the King County executive approved the superior court facilities master plan and transmitted it to council for its review and approval on May 12, 2009, and
      WHEREAS, Motion 13106 accepted the superior court facility master plan, affirmed the policy goal of co-locating all juvenile offenders, northend juvenile dependency and family court matters involving children in a single facility, and requested additional information on phasing construction of the facility, operating costs, and the impact of reducing the facility size on the adopted policy objectives, and
      WHEREAS, on April 16, 2010, the King County executive transmitted a report to the King County council in response to Motion 13106, including joint executive and superior court recommendations for construction of an initial facility phase, and
      WHEREAS, Motion 13218 accepted the report to the King County council in response to Motion 13106, and
      WHEREAS, the 2009 King County Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 16312, authorized funding for predesign, including site planning, for the replacement facility at the King County youth services center site, and
      WHEREAS, the children and family law justice center predesign report provides detailed analysis of the preliminary design work completed to date for the youth services center site, including potential options regarding facility components and revenue sources, including site parking;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The children and family law justice center predesign report, as described in Attachment A to this motion, is hereby accepted.
