A MOTION accepting a report on the progress toward construction of a pedestrian walkway from the Pacific Freshman Campus School to Klahanie SE/252nd Avenue SE on Issaquah Fall City road as required inOrdinance 16310, Section 5, Proviso P4.

                     WHEREAS, the county is responsible for providing road services to the citizens of unincorporated King County, and

                     WHEREAS, the county maintains a prioritized list of safety projects, and

                     WHEREAS, Ordinance 16310, the ordinance adopting a supplemental budget for the operation of the department of transportation director’s office for the fiscal biennium beginning January 1, 2008, and ending December 31, 2009, amending the 2008/2009 Biennium Ordinance, Ordinance 15975, Section 110, as amended, contains a proviso requiring the transportation director’s office to submit to the council for its review and approval, a report on the progress toward construction of a pedestrian walkway from the Pacific Freshman Campus School to Klahanie SE/252nd Avenue SE and restricting $50,000 from their budget until after a motion approving the report has been  approved by council, and

                     WHEREAS, the executive has transmitted to the council with this motion, a plan for the pathway, developed collaboratively by the department of transportation’s road services division and the Issaquah school district;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The plan to construct a pedestrian walkway from the Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus School to Klahanie SE/252nd Avenue SE., Attachment A to this motion, is hereby approved.
