Title

A MOTION appointing Jan Drago as the King County councilmember representing council district eight, in accordance with Section 680.10 of the King County Charter.

Body

      WHEREAS, on November 24, 2009, councilmember Dow Constantine took office as King County executive, thereby creating a vacancy in the position of councilmember representing council district eight, and

      WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 680.10 of the King County Charter, the council is authorized to fill the vacancy by appointing a new councilmember to represent council district eight until a successor is elected and qualified at the next general election, which will be held on November 2, 2010.

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

      The metropolitan King County council hereby appoints Jan Drago to serve as

King County councilmember representing council district eight until the successor to the office has been elected and qualified at the general election on November 2, 2010.
