Title

A MOTION appointing Kurt Triplett as King County executive, in accordance with Section 680.10 of the King County Charter and RCW 36.16.110.

Body

WHEREAS, on May 8, 2009, the metropolitan King County council received notice of the resignation of King County executive Ron Sims, effective on May 8, 2009; and

      WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 680.10 of the King County Charter and RCW 36.16.110, the council shall appoint a new executive to serve until a successor is elected and qualified at the next general election, which is November 3, 2009.

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

      The metropolitan King County council hereby appoints Kurt Triplett to serve

temporarily as King County executive, until the successor to the office has been elected and qualified at the general election on November 3, 2009.
