Title
A MOTION adopting the 2009 work program for the budget and fiscal management committee.
Body
WHEREAS, the budget and fiscal management committee is charged with: considering and making recommendations on capital and operating budget supplemental appropriations; considering and making recommendations on the county revenue and expenditure fiscal structural gap; considering and making recommendations on the sale and lease of real property to or by the county; considering and making recommendations on the office of economic and financial analysis and financial policies; and considering and making recommendations on debt and investment proposals and developing recommendations on policy direction for the 2010 annual budget, and
WHEREAS, King County continues to experience financial challenges in its current expense and other funds, and
WHEREAS, the committee has, therefore, developed a work plan for 2009 to facilitate its review of budgets including monitoring and making recommendations on: financial policies and plans; status of county funds; revenues and expenditures; taxes, levies, and fees; debt and investments; sale and lease of real property to or by the county; and its development of policy options and recommendations on these and other issues including the 2010 annual budget, and
WHEREAS, the committee seeks to be fully transparent and accountable to the public for its work program, and
WHEREAS, the committee seeks full council involvement in and support for its work program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The budget and fiscal management committee's 2009 work program, as attached to this motion, is hereby adopted.
