AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to execute an interlocal agreement between King County and the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority for full-time transit police services.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority, also known as Sound Transit, desires to provide full-time transit police services to support the Sound Transit security plan.
2.  The county has the ability to provide those transit policing services.
3.  Services will be provided beginning July 1, 2008.
4.  Participation in the agreement is to the benefit of the citizens of King County.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY
      SECTION 1.  The county executive is authorized to execute an agreement,
 
substantially in the form attached to this ordinance, with Sound Transit for full-time transit police services.
