Title
A MOTION adopting the 2009 work program for the physical environment committee.
Body
      WHEREAS, the physical environment committee is charged with considering and making recommendations relating to:
        1.  Growth management, including land use development and regulation, comprehensive planning, annexations and affordable housing;
        2.  The environment, including:  salmon recovery; resource lands; surface water management and water supply; solid waste; unincorporated and rural areas, including agriculture and rural services; and parks, recreation and cultural resources;
        3.  Transportation, including roads and public transportation; and
        4.  In the areas within the committee's purview, track state and federal legislative action and develop recommendations on policy direction for the 2010 annual budget, and
      WHEREAS, the committee has, therefore, developed a work plan for 2009 to facilitate its review of the issues and areas set forth above, and
      WHEREAS, the committee seeks to be fully transparent and accountable to the public for its work program, and
      WHEREAS, the committee seeks full council involvement in and support for its work program;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The physical environment committee's 2009 work program, as attached to this motion, is hereby adopted.
