A MOTION authorizing the chair of the council to acquire services and software from Daystar, Inc., for further customization of the legislative management system approved in Motion 10525, and amended in Motion 10589, which will provide additional public and employee access to the system.

WHEREAS, in Motion 10525 the council authorized the chair of the metropolitan King County council to enter into a contract with Daystar Computer Systems, Inc., for the design, installation, training and maintenance of an automated legislative management system, and
WHEREAS, Daystar, Inc., has developed version 5.0 of the Legistar software authorized in Motion 10525, which will allow expanded use of the internet and computer networks to allow for increased efficiency of council staff and more transparency to the county's citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The chair of the metropolitan King County council is authorized to acquire services from Daystar, Inc., to implement the upgrade of the existing legislative management system to Legistar version 5.0. The chair is further authorized to amend the existing contract to obtain a license for the Approval Tracking Module for use with Legistar version 5.0. The amount of the contract and contracted services shall not exceed $52, 200, excluding amounts in further years for maintenance fees.
