A MOTION related to the organization of the council, designating the members of the regional committees; and amending Motion 11122, Section G, as amended, and OR 2-040 and Motion 11122, Section H, as amended, and OR 2-050.

WHEREAS, Section 270.20 of the King County Charter has been amended to provide that each regional committee shall have nine voting members, three of whom shall be metropolitan county councilmembers appointed by the chair of the council, and shall include councilmembers from districts with unincorporated residents, and
WHEREAS, Section 270.20 of the King County Charter has been amended to provide further that the chair of each regional committee shall be a county councilmember appointed by the chair of the county council and that the vice-chair of each regional committee shall be appointed by majority vote of those committee members who are not county councilmembers, in accordance with voting rights that are apportioned as provided in that section, and
WHEREAS, the December 5, 2008, effective date of the charter amendment precedes the council's adoption of its 2009 organizational motion, making necessary an interim amendment of the council's organizational rules in order to comply with the charter amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
I. Motion 11122, Section G, as amended, and OR 2-040 are each hereby amended to read as follows:
OR 2-040. Chairs and vice-chairs. The council designates the following councilmembers as chairs and vice-chairs of the standing committees created in this motion and the regional committees established in the King County Charter.

Vice-chair: Jane Hague.
