Title
A MOTION authorizing the chair of the council to enter into a contract for an independent consultant to provide key technical analysis as part of the King County auditor's office performance audit of King County Metro Transit.
Body
      WHEREAS, the metropolitan King County council adopted Ordinance 16130 in 2008, appropriating funds for a performance audit of transit by the King County auditor, and
      WHEREAS, the county's procurement services office issued a request for proposals ("RFP") to provide consulting services, and
      WHEREAS, an RFP evaluation committee, comprised of county council staff, county auditor staff and county executive staff evaluated the proposals, conducted interviews and unanimously determined that the proposal from Booz Allen Hamilton best meets the selection criteria outlined in the RFP, and
      WHEREAS, the county auditor also evaluated the consultants' proposals and references, and determined that Booz Allen Hamilton, in partnership with Nelson Nygaard, Matt & Associates and Courval Scheduling, has the qualifications and expertise to conduct key technical analysis as part of a performance audit of transit service and operations, and recommends council approval of Booz Allen Hamilton, and
      WHEREAS, Motion 10651, Section III, as amended, and OR 1-020 requires the council to authorize the council chair to sign any contracts in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars in the legislative branch;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The chair of the metropolitan King County council is authorized to enter into a contract in an amount not to exceed three hundred thousand dollars with Booz Allen

Hamilton to provide key technical analysis as part of the King County auditor's performance audit of King County Metro Transit.
