Title
A MOTION appointing Connie Capitan to serve as a commissioner for fire district 31.
Body
WHEREAS, fire district 31 is authorized to provide fire protection to an area of unincorporated King County near the city of Auburn, and
WHEREAS, fire district 31 receives fire protection services from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, and
WHEREAS, the contract for fire protection services for fire district 31 has expired, and
WHEREAS, fire district 31 has vacancies in its commission, and
WHEREAS, it is essential that there be at least two commissioners to responsibly conduct the business affairs of fire district 31, and
WHEREAS, Connie Capitan, who resides in council district 7 and within the service area of fire district 31, is willing to serve as a commissioner for fire district 31, and
WHEREAS, RCW 42.12.070 gives the county the authority to appoint commissioners for fire district 31;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
A. Connie Capitan is hereby appointed as a commissioner for fire district 31; and
B. The term of this appointment shall be until the next regularly scheduled election.
