Title
A MOTION authorizing the chair of the council to enter into a contract for an independent consultant to assist in a performance audit of the facilities management division's planning and budgeting for capital facilities construction projects; the audit will evaluate how effectively the facilities management division plans and budgets for capital facilities construction projects and whether its policies, procedures and practices are consistent with industry best practices and standards.
Body
      WHEREAS, the county's procurement services office issued a request for proposals ("RFP") to assist the auditor's office in performing the performance audit of the King County facilities management division's planning and budgeting for capital facilities construction projects, and
      WHEREAS, an RFP evaluation committee, comprised of county auditor staff, the executive's internal audit manager and the director of the city of Seattle's fleets and facilities department, evaluated the proposals, conducted interviews and determined that the proposal from Cedar River Group LLC best meets the selection criteria outlined in the RFP, and
      WHEREAS, the county auditor also evaluated the consultants' proposals and references, spoke with Cedar River Group LLC, and determined that Cedar River Group LLC has the qualifications and expertise to evaluate facilities management division's capital planning and budgeting, and
      WHEREAS, Motion 10651, Section III, as amended, and OR 1-020 requires the council to authorize the council chair to sign any contracts in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars in the legislative branch;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The chair of the metropolitan King County council is authorized to enter into a contract, in an amount not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars with Cedar River
 
Group LLC to assist in a performance audit of the facilities management division's planning and budgeting for capital facilities construction project.
