title
A MOTION designating the county-owned Goat Hill property as the county's consolidated election facility location and authorizing the executive to pursue construction of a new building on Goat Hill to house the county elections division and the criminal investigation division of the sheriff's office.
body
      WHEREAS, the council has fully weighed the options of either:
      1.  Leasing a site in Renton, known as the Earlington property, for use by the elections division; or
      2.  Constructing a new building on the county-owned property adjacent to the king county jail for use by the elections division and the criminal investigation division of the sheriff's office;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The council hereby designates the county-owned Goat Hill property as the county's consolidated election facility location and requests the executive to pursue construction of a new building on Goat Hill to house the county elections division and the criminal investigation division of the sheriff's office.  The council further finds that the county should cease pursuing the leasing of the Earlington property in Renton as the consolidated elections facility site.
