AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to enter into a contract between King County and the King County Housing Authority relating to supplemental law enforcement community policing services at Cascade Apartments through 2008.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  The Cascade Apartments are located in unincorporated King County between Renton and Kent.
2.  The King County Housing Authority desires to provide supplemental community policing and law enforcement services for its residents of the Cascade Apartments.
3.  KCHA has worked diligently to secure funding for a broad, multi-disciplinary approach to crime prevention and reduction for the residents of Cascade Apartments.
4.  Through this contract, the Sheriff's Office can participate in this ambitious and worthwhile project
5.  The county has the resources and is willing to provide community policing and law enforcement services to the Cascade Apartments area.
6.  Participation in this agreement is to the mutual benefit of the citizens of King County.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The county executive is authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached to this ordinance, with the King County Housing
 
Authority to provide law enforcement and community policing services at Cascade Apartments through 2008.
