AN ORDINANCE modifying the future location of the office of the county executive; and amending Ordinance 15390, Section 5.
body
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1.  Findings.  The council hereby finds it desirable to modify the future location of the office of the county executive established in Ordinance 15390.  The law justice planning efforts currently underway will, among other things, evaluate the space needs of the courts, the sheriff, and the prosecuting attorney.  These planning efforts will inform the availability of space in the courthouse to accommodate the office of the county executive.  Subject to the completion of the law justice planning efforts, it is the intent of the council that the future office of the county executive will move from its current location in the Columbia Center to the county courthouse, rather than the county administration building as provided in Ordinance 15390.
SECTION 2.  Ordinance 15390, Section 5, is hereby amended to read as follows:
((On or before the termination date of the current lease at the Columbia Center and u))Upon completion of the ((new county office building)) law justice planning efforts currently underway, the executive shall ((have)) relocate((d)) his offices currently in the Columbia Center, and be ready to conduct county business, in the ((space vacated in the)) county ((administration building by the finance division)) courthouse.  The offices currently in the Columbia Center include the executive, the office of management and budget ("OMB"), DES/administration director, business relations and economic development ("BRED") and office of information and resource management ("OIRM").

((It is the intent of the council that this move be temporary pending the availability of space in the King County courthouse for these offices.)).
