A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of V. David Hocraffer as the King County public defender.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Ordinance 14412, "There is hereby established a public defender reporting to the director of the department of community and human services and approved by the county council," and
WHEREAS, the "public defender shall be a licensed attorney with prior experience in public defense and management," and
WHEREAS, "there shall be convened an advisory committee, which shall be representative of the criminal justice system and the broader community," and
WHEREAS, the "director . . . shall appoint the public defender from a list of names submitted by the advisory committee";
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The county executive's appointment of V. David Hocraffer as the King County public defender, is hereby confirmed.
