AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to enter into an interlocal agreement between King County and the state of Washington Department of Ecology relating to litter emphasis patrols.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  The state of Washington Department of Ecology desires to provide supplemental law enforcement services for purposes of enforcing litter laws.
2.  This is necessary to increase public awareness about the importance of secured loads when transporting materials and the potential for injury with unsecured loads.
3.  The county has the resources to provide the emphasis patrols.
4.  Participation in this agreement is to the mutual benefit of the citizens of King County.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The county executive is authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached to this ordinance, with the state of Washington Department of Ecology to provide litter emphasis patrols.
