AN ORDINANCE relating to the annexation of approximately 73 acres of land into the Covington Water District for the purpose of providing water service.

      STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  A notice of intention proposing the annexation of approximately 73 acres of land, known as the Anderson Acres annexation, into the Covington Water District for the purpose of providing water service was filed with the county council on November 17, 2005.
2.  Covington Water District has found the petition for transfer to be sufficient and has concurred with the proposed transfer in Resolution No. 3427, passed on October 5, 2005.
3.  Covington Water District filed a Determination of Nonsignificance on the proposed annexation dated June 22, 2005.
4.  The utilities technical review committee recommended county council approval of the proposed annexation.
5.  The county council held the legally required public hearing and has considered the criteria in RCW 57.02.040.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The annexation of approximately 73 acres of land into the Covington Water District for the purpose of providing water service described in Attachment A of this ordinance is approved.  Approval of this proposed annexation is consistent with RCW 57.02.040.
      SECTION 2.  Covington Water District is the appropriate entity to serve the area proposed to be annexed.
 
      SECTION 3.  Completion of this annexation does not constitute county approval
or disapproval of any other permits, certifications or actions necessary to provide service to this annexation area.
