Title

A MOTION accepting the report on gun violence amongst youth and young adults in compliance with Motion 15234.

Body

                     WHEREAS, Motion 15234 requires the executive to develop a report on gun violence amongst youth and young adults, and

                     WHEREAS, the report includes the following:

                     1.  A comprehensive inventory of existing county programs that focus on youth violence prevention and intervention and other community-based efforts in the county;

                     2.  Methods and findings from interviews and focus groups with youth and young adults, their families and providers who work with youth and their families on issues related to gun violence; and

                     3.  Recommendations and strategies to prevent youth and young adult gun violence, informed by the engagement required in the motion, and;

                     WHEREAS, the executive is further required to submit a motion that accepts the report;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The Report on Gun Violence Amongst Youth and Young Adults, which is Attachment A to this motion, in compliance with Motion 15234 is hereby accepted.
