A MOTION acknowledging receipt of a workplan and a procurement policies package on anti-labor trafficking in response to the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18835, Section 112, Proviso P1, related to the finance and business operations division.

                     WHEREAS, the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18835, Section 112, Proviso P1, related to the finance and business operations division in the department of executive services, states that $50,000 shall not be expended or encumbered until the executive transmits a workplan, a procurement policies package on anti-labor trafficking and a motion acknowledging receipt of the workplan and the procurement policies package is passed by the council, and

                     WHEREAS, the executive has transmitted to the council a final report on anti-labor trafficking that contains the required information responding to Ordinance 18835, Section 112, Proviso P1, including:

                     1.  A workplan to develop and implement a training program pilot that will implement the elements of the labor trafficking training program set out in Motion 15218; and

                     2.  a package of procurement policies, based on best practices, to reduce the risk of labor trafficking within the county's operations and supply chain, a schedule and budget for implementing those procurement policies;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The receipt of the executive's final report in response to the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18835, Section 112, Proviso P1, which includes the workplan and the procurement policies package, is hereby acknowledged.
