Title

A MOTION acknowledging receipt of a report on the status of the Puget Sound Emergency Radio Network project in compliance with the 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 132, as amended by Ordinance 18734, Section 1, Proviso P7.

Body

                     WHEREAS, King County voters, on April 28, 2015, approved a nine-year property tax levy to fund the Puget Sound Emergency Radio Network ("PSERN"), the replacement of the current countywide emergency radio communications system, and

                     WHEREAS, King County has been chosen to implement PSERN, and the project is under the administrative management of King County department of information technology, and

                     WHEREAS, the PSERN project, in May 2015, was selected for mandatory appropriations under K.C.C. chapter 4A.130, and

                     WHEREAS, Ordinance 18734, adopted by council on May 21, 2018, amended the 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 132, as amended, and its Attachment A, as amended, to make a net supplemental appropriation of $123.5 million to the department of information technology for capital project 1126875, PSERN Capital, and

                     WHEREAS, Ordinance 18409, Section 132, as amended by Ordinance 18734, Section 1, Proviso P7, provides that $100,000 shall not be expended or encumbered until a report by the capital projects oversight program on the status of the PSERN project is received by the council and the executive and the council passes a motion acknowledging receipt of the report;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The receipt of the report by the capital projects oversight program on the status of the PSERN project, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby acknowledged in

accordance with Ordinance 18409, Section 132, as amended by Ordinance 18734, Section 1, Proviso P7.
