Title

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the execution of a new lease to support the operations of superior court.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The facilities management division received a request for space on August 15, 2015, from the superior court.

2.  The superior court needed space for the purpose of counseling and administration of juvenile court. The superior court needed space for the purpose of juvenile probation services.

3.  The facilities management division determined on August 15, 2015, that there was not an appropriate county-owned option.

4.  The facilities management division determined, through consultation with the department, that leasing was the most cost-effective option for the county.

5.  The facilities management division successfully negotiated to lease space from the Institute for Family Development, located at 34004 16th Avenue South, Federal Way, Washington, within council district seven.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The executive is authorized to execute a lease for the property located at 34004 16th Avenue South, Federal Way, Washington with the Institute for Family Development, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, and to take all actions necessary to implement the terms of the lease.
