PREAMBLE:
In accordance with K.C.C.4.04.040, the King County council may adopt an ordinance permitting the county to enter into contracts requiring the payment of funds from the appropriation of subsequent fiscal years.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The King County executive is hereby authorized to execute a lease, in substantially the form attached to this ordinance, at the following location:  46,936 square feet of space located in Key Tower to commence March 15, 2004, for information and technology services for five years.  The rental amount for information and technology services will be $93,872.00 per month ($24.00 per foot per year) with increases of $1.00 per foot in years two and three only.  The agreement contains an option for an additional five-year term.    The lease will have certain early termination language, which can be invoked should the county elect to relocate to its own building.
