Title
AN ORDINANCE making a supplemental appropriation of $1,668,000 to the risk abatement fund for the purpose of paying the claims of the class action plaintiffs' attorneys' fees and other related costs as stipulated by the Dupuis settlement; amending the 2003 Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 14517, Sections 39, 60 and 82, as amended, and adding a new section to Ordinance 14517.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby approved and adopted an appropriation of $1,668,000 to the risk abatement fund from several funds incorporated as Attachment 1 to this ordinance and an appropriation to certain operating funds, to make payments to the class action settlement and to process administrative and related costs associated with the settlement.
SECTION 2. There is hereby added to Ordinance 14517, as amended, a new section to read as follows:
OMB/DUPUIS LAWSUIT ADMIN - From the risk abatement fund there is hereby appropriated to:
OMB/Dupuis lawsuit admin $1,668,000
PROVIDED THAT:
Of this appropriation $1,026,000 shall be spent only on cash distributions and plaintiffs' attorneys' fees as provided in the final settlement and fee agreements in the Dupuis litigation, approved by the superior court, and shall not be expended or encumbered until after the settlement and fee agreement in the Dupuis litigation has been approved by the superior court. Should the settlement agreement or fee agreement require cash disbursements of less than $1,026,000, the difference between $1,026,000 and the amount of the required cash disbursements shall be returned to the current expense fund balance.
SECTION 3. Ordinance 14517, Section 39, as amended, is hereby amended by adding thereto and inserting therein the following:
