AN ORDINANCE authorizing the vacation of a portion of
Lake Alice Road -V-2344.  Petitioner:  Edna Schaeffer.

STATEMENT OF FACTS
1.  A petition has been filed requesting vacation of that portion of Lake Alice Road hereinafter described.
2. The department of transportation notified the various utilities companies serving the area and has been advised that easements were not required within the vacation area.
3. The department of transportation records indicate public funds have not been expended for the maintenance Lake Alice Road.
4. The department of transportation considers the subject right-of-way useless as part of the King County road system and believes the public would benefit by the return of this unused area to the public tax rolls.
5. The right-of-way is classified "D-Class" and, in accordance with K.C.C. 14.40.020, a $200 fee, as compensation, is required for the administrative cost to vacate the road.  King County is in receipt of $200 from the petitioner.
Due notice was given in the manner provided by law and a hearing was held by the office of the hearing examiner on the 25th day of August, 1999.
In consideration of the benefits to be derived from the subject vacation, the council has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of King County to grant said petition.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1.  The council, on the ___________ day of __________________, 20_____, hereby vacates and abandons that portion of Lake Alice Road described as follows:
That portion of Lake Alice Road within the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 15, Township 24 North, Range 7 East W.M., King County, Washington, lying westerly of the west margin of the David Powell Road Revision and Northeasterly of Cemetery Road,
 
Less the South 514 feet thereof.
Containing an area of 18,300 square feet more or less.
