Title
A MOTION authorizing the King County department of public health to accept the donation of a Nikon Coolscan 4000 to be used by the medical examiner.
Body
      WHEREAS, the medical examiner is conducting a study of the investigations of infant deaths in King County, and
      WHEREAS, the SIDS Foundation of Washington has funded an intern in the medical examiner's office to conduct the research for the study, and
      WHEREAS, additional slide data is necessary in order to complete the study, and
      WHEREAS, converting slides dating from the 1980s into digital imagery would enhance and permit completion of the study report, and
      WHEREAS, the SIDS Foundation of Washington wishes to donate a Nikon Coolscan 4000, which would convert the slides to digital images, to the medical examiner's office, and
      WHEREAS, the Nikon Coolscan 4000 would also assist the medical examiner in the investigation of other crimes in King County, and
      WHEREAS, the Nikon Coolscan 4000 will cost approximately one thousand four hundred dollars, and
      WHEREAS, the King County department of public health and the medical examiner would like to accept the donation of the Nikon Coolscan 4000 from the SIDS Foundation;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The King County department of public health is authorized to accept the donation
 
of a Nikon Coolscan 4000 from the SIDS Foundation of Washington.
