A MOTION confirming the King County executive's appointment of Norman Johnson as substance abuse treatment provider as representative to the drug treatment advisory panel.

      WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4(6) of Second Substitute House Bill 2338, each county shall create a panel to submit a plan for disposition of all funds provided within the criminal justice treatment account within that county, and
      WHEREAS, the membership of this panel shall include the county alcohol and drug coordinator (Jim Vollendroff), prosecutor (Norm Maleng), county sheriff (Dave Reichert), county superior court (Judge Laura Inveen), a substance abuse treatment provider appointed by the county legislative authority, a member of the criminal defense bar appointed by the county legislative authority, and in counties with a drug court, a representative of the drug court (Mary Taylor); all named individuals approved by the Criminal Justice Council, and
      WHEREAS, the drug treatment advisory panel has selected Norman Johnson to be the substance abuse treatment provider member, and
      WHEREAS, the appointment of the substance abuse treatment must be submitted through the county legislative authority for confirmation;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

Therapeutic Health Services, as substance abuse treatment provider, as the panel deems otherwise, is hereby confirmed.
