Title
A MOTION acknowledging receipt of the summary letter and completion of the online annual report requirement for the Crisis Care Centers Levy, in accordance with Ordinance 19572, Section 7.C.9, and Attachment A to Ordinance 19783, Section VIII.A.
Body
WHEREAS, in 2023, King County adopted Ordinance 19572 to provide for the submission to voters of a property tax levy in excess of the levy limitation contained in chapter 84.55 RCW, for the nine-year period of 2024 through 2032, for regional behavioral health services and capital facilities to establish and operate a regional network of behavioral health crisis care centers; to preserve, expand and maintain residential treatment facilities; to provide behavioral health workforce supports; to provide mobile crisis care and post-discharge stabilization; to pay, finance or refinance costs of those projects; and for administration, coordination, implementation and evaluation of levy activities, and
WHEREAS, King County voters considered the levy as Proposition No. 1 as part of the April 2023 special election, and fifty-seven percent of voters approved it, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 19572, Section 7.C.9, requires online annual reports on the levy's progress over the previous year beginning in 2025, and
WHEREAS, on December 29, 2023, in accordance with Ordinance 19572, the executive transmitted to the council for review and adoption an implementation plan that described the purposes, strategies, financial plan, and reporting requirements for the levy from 2024 through 2032, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 19783, Section 1, adopted the implementation plan in June 2024, and
WHEREAS, consistent with Ordinance 19572, the implementation plan requires the executive to make the online annual report available to the council, the regional policy committee, and the public, by August 15 of each year, and
