A MOTION approving thirty-one allocations for the King County heritage sesquicentennial sustained support grant program, in accordance with Ordinance 14433.

      WHEREAS, the King County landmarks and heritage commission are authorized by Ordinance 14433 to administer the heritage sesquicentennial sustained support program, and
      WHEREAS, King County heritage museums and organizations provide a range of public benefits that preserve irreplaceable heritage resources and interpret them for the education of citizens and visitors about King County's rich heritage, and
      WHEREAS, The King County office of cultural resources received thirty-one applications under the 2002 heritage sesquicentennial sustained support grant program, and
      WHEREAS, a review panel of heritage specialists, museum professional and community members reviewed all applications and made recommendations to the King County landmarks and heritage commission, as listed in Attachments A and B to this motion, and
      WHEREAS, the King County landmarks and heritage commission approved the review panel's recommendations, and
      WHEREAS, the recommendations for the heritage sesquicentennial sustained support grant program funding adhere to the guidelines and financial plan policies approved by the King County council in Motion 8797, and
      WHEREAS, the financial plan included as Attachment C to this motion has been revised to indicate actual hotel/motel tax revenue for 2001, and
      WHEREAS, the financial plan supports heritage sesquicentennial sustained support program funding;
      NOW THEREFORE BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The executive is hereby authorized to allocate a total of $110,123 for thirty-one
 
heritage organizations as listed in Attachment A to this motion and described in Attachment B to this motion.
