AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation of $7,557,500 to the risk abatement fund for the purpose of paying the claims of the class action plaintiff's, attorney's fees, and other related costs as stipulated by the Covey settlement; amending the 2003 Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 14517, Sections 39, 54 and 74, as amended, and adding a new section to Ordinance 14517.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby approved and adopted an appropriation of $7,557,500 to the risk abatement fund from several funds incorporated as Attachment 1 to this ordinance, an appropriation to certain operating funds, to make payments to the class action settlement and to process administrative and related costs associated with the settlement.
SECTION 2. There is hereby added to Ordinance 14517, as amended, a new section to read as follows:
OMB/COVEY LAWSUIT ADMIN. - From the risk abatement fund there is hereby appropriated to:
OMB/Covey lawsuit admin. $7,557,500
SECTION 3. Ordinance 14517, Section 39, as amended, is hereby amended by adding thereto and inserting therein the following:
CX TRANSFERS - From the current expense fund balance there is hereby appropriated to:
CX transfers $7,152,000
SECTION 4. Ordinance 14517, Section 47, as amended, is hereby amended by adding thereto and inserting therein the following:
SALARY AND WAGE CONTINGENCY/CJ - From the criminal justice fund there is hereby appropriated to:

SECTION 5. Ordinance 14517, Section 74, as amended, is hereby amended by adding thereto and inserting therein the following:
