Title
AN ORDINANCE prohibiting the use or operation of any internal combustion engines on Ames Lake; and adding a new section to K.C.C. chapter 12.44.
Body
      PREAMBLE:
This ordinance, prohibiting the use of internal combustion engines on Ames Lake, is consistent with previous ordinances adopting similar restrictions on other lakes within King County.  These ordinances are passed with the intent to ensure the safe use and the preservation of these resources.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  There is hereby added to K.C.C. chapter 12.44 a new section to read as follows:
      Ames Lake restrictions.  It is unlawful to use or operate any internal combustion engines on Ames Lake; provided, that nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent any public official or construction company from performing authorized duties.  The department of natural resources and parks is authorized to post and maintain the appropriate signs.
