AN ORDINANCE relating to fees charged by the department of judicial administration; and amending Ordinance 19194, Section 2, and K.C.C. 4A.630.095

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of this ordinance authorizes the department of judicial administration to assess a subscription fee for providing access to probate case indexes.
SECTION 2. Ordinance 19194, Section 2, and K.C.C. 4A.630.095 are hereby amended to read as follows:
A. The department of judicial administration is hereby authorized to assess a subscription fee for providing access to civil and criminal case index data.
B. The criminal case data index consists of an index of names of defendants and their associated criminal cases and charges in superior court, updated on a regular basis. The annual subscription fee for the criminal case data index shall be three thousand six hundred dollars. The semiannual subscription fee for the criminal case data index shall be one thousand eight hundred dollars. The fee for a single criminal case index report shall be one thousand five hundred dollars.
C. The general case data index consists of an index of names of litigants and their associated cases in superior court, updated on a regular basis. The annual subscription fee for the general case data index shall be one thousand eight hundred dollars. The semiannual subscription fee for the general case data index shall be nine hundred dollars. The fee for a single general case index report shall be seven hundred fifty dollars.
D. The probate case data index consists of an index of the prior week's probate filings in superior court, updated on a regular basis. The annual subscription fee for the probate case data index shall be one thousand two hundred dollars. The semiannual subscription fee for the probate case data index shall be six hundred dollars.
E. The department of judicial administration shall establish a procedure for the creation of the indexes and index updates, administration of subscriptions, and collection
of subscription fees.
SECTION 3. This ordinance takes effect January 1, 2022.
