effective date.
Erin Auzins, Council staff, briefed the committee and answered questions from the
members. Jim Chan, Director, Permitting Division, Department of Local Services,
answered questions from the members.
Councilmember Mosqueda moved striking amendment S1 and title amendment T1.
The amendments were adopted..
A motion was made by Barón that this Ordinance be Recommended Do Pass
Substitute Consent. The motion carried by the following vote:
8 - Balducci, Barón, Dembowski, Dunn, Mosqueda, Perry, Quinn and Zahilay

A MOTION relating to public transportation, requesting the executive to engage on a task force on transit
safety and security to address public safety on transit and in the communities in which the Metro transit
department operates.
Mary Bourguignon, Council staff, briefed the committee. Deanna Martin, Chief of
Staff, Metro Transit Department, answered questions from the members.
Councilmember Dunn moved striking amendment S1. Chair Balducci offered a friendly
amendment to add "and the King County Council" on line 34 following "Union, Local
587". The friendly amendment was accepted. The striking amendment as amended
was adopted. Councilmember Dunn moved title amendment T1. The amendment was
adopted.
This matter was expedited to the March 4, 2025, Council agenda.
A motion was made by Dunn that this Motion be Recommended Do Pass
Substitute Consent. The motion carried by the following vote:
8 - Balducci, Barón, Dembowski, Dunn, Mosqueda, Perry, Quinn and Zahilay
