Approval of Minutes of August 26, 2002

Mr. von Reichbauer moved to approve the minutes of the August 26, 2002 meeting without reading.

Reports on Special and Outside Committees
2.
Mr. McKenna reported on the Eastside Transportation Partnership. The committee is working to
formulate east King County's vision for a regional transportation investment package. The
committee has formed an ad hoc committee, and has drafted a letter to Ms. Sullivan, Mr. Pelz and
Mr. McKenna outlining the Eastside's vision for those investments. The letter will be considered at a
special meeting of the Eastside Transportation Partnership on Friday, September 6, 2002 at Bellevue
City Hall.

Mr. McKenna informed the Council that the I-405 Executive Committee is involved in refining its
preferred vision for the regional transportation investment package. The Committee's ad hoc
funding and phasing subcommittee has met several times. Mr. McKenna indicated the Executive
Committee will ratify the subcommittee's work at its next meeting.

Mr. McKenna briefed the Council on the Trans-Lake Project. The committee is studying a project
for SR 520, replacing the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge. The purpose of the meeting is to vote at
its meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2002 on a preliminary preferred alternative for that project.

Mr. von Reichbauer reminded the Council about the American Heart Walk on Saturday, September
14, 2002 at 9 am at Safeco Field. He identified team captains: Marilyn Kihara, Erika Kinno, Tracy
Calderon, Anne Noris and himself. Mr. JJ McKay, Vice President of the American Heart Association
for Puget Sound, addressed the Council and gave some statistics on heart disease. Ms. Casey
Mazzoni, Regional Director, American Heart Association, was also present.
Mr. von Reichbauer also thanked Mr. Phillips and his office for their involvement in this upcoming
event.

Ms. Hague moved to adopt the DDES finding of fact that the final plat of Canterberry Crossing
complies with the conditions of preliminary plat approval and other applicable laws, and that the
Chair is authorized to signify Council approval by signing the final plat at the end of the meeting.
Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered.
Evetts Park Division 2 - Council District 12
Ms. Hague moved to adopt the DDES finding of fact that the final plat of Evetts Park Division 2
complies with the conditions of preliminary plat approval and other applicable laws, and that the
Chair is authorized to signify Council approval by signing the final plat at the end of the meeting.
