Hybrid Meetings: Attend the King County Council committee meetings in  
person in Council Chambers (Room 1001), 516 3rd Avenue in Seattle, or

Pursuant to K.C.C. 1.24.035 A. and F., this meeting is also noticed as a  
meeting of the Metropolitan King County Council, whose agenda is limited  
to the committee business. In this meeting only the rules and procedures  
applicable to committees apply and not those applicable to full council  
meetings.

Mayor Backus moved approval of the May 14, 2025 meeting minutes. There being no  
objections, the minutes were approved.

Andrew Lee, General Manager/CEO, Seattle Public Utilities, Kate Kurtz, SPU  
Landscape and Organics Resource Conservation Planner and Program Lead and  
Rebecca Singer, Director, Solid Waste Division, DNRP, briefed the committee via  
PowerPoint presentation and answered questions from the members. Heather Trim,  
Executive Director, Zero Waste Washington, Robert Feldstein, Executive Director,  
Sound Cities Association, also briefed the committee and answered questions from  
the members.

AN ORDINANCE relating to the funding and provision of Medic One emergency medical services;  
providing for the submission to the qualified electors of King County, at special election on November 4,  
2025, of a proposition to fund the countywide Medic One emergency medical services by authorizing the  
continuation of a regular property tax levy for a consecutive six year period, for collection beginning in  
2026, at a rate of $0.25 or less per $1,000 of assessed valuation, to provide for Medic One emergency  
medical services.

questions from the members.  
Votes: Yes: 10 von Reichbauer, Dembowski, Zahilay, Rinck, Backus, Birney

as alternate for Pavone who was excused.

A motion was made by Mayor Backus that this Ordinance be Recommended Do  
Pass. The motion carried by the following vote:

Strategic Plan submitted by the executive.

Mayor Backus moved Amendment 1. The Amendment was adopted.
