					Metro Transit Safety and Security Briefing  
					Mary Bourguignon, Council staff, briefed the committee on the legislation and  
					answered questions from the members. Ernest Kandilige, Deputy General Manager,  
					Metro Transit Department (MTD) and Rebecca Frankhouser, Director of Safety and  
					Security, MTD, briefed the Committee via PowerPoint presentation and answered  
					questions from the members.

					AN ORDINANCE authorizing the Metro transit department to file applications with the Federal Transit  
					Administration, an operating administration of the United States Department of Transportation, for federal  
					transportation assistance authorized by 49 U.S.C. chapter 53, Title 23 U.S.C., and other federal statutes  
					administered by the Federal Transit Administration; and adding a new chapter to K.C.C. Title 28.

					Committee and answered questions from the members.  
					Councilmember Dembowski moved amendment 1. The amendment was adopted.  
					This item was expedited to the April 22, 2025 Council Agenda.  
					A motion was made by Chair Dembowski that this Ordinance be  
					Recommended Do Pass Substitute Consent. The motion carried by the  
					following vote:
