The Regional Transit Committee was called to order at 3:01 p.m. by Rob McKenna, Chair, in the
Metropolitan King County Council Chambers, 10th Floor, King County Courthouse. |

Approval of Minutes - January 15, 2003 and February 19, 2003 | ||||

The minutes of the January 15, 2003 and February 19, 2003 meetings were unanimously approved
as presented. |

2. | Chair's Report | |||
Mr. McKenna announced that staff would be contacting members to find a date for a tour of the
Transit Facilities in April. |
||||
3. | Vice Chair's Report | |||
Mr. Pelz noted that the county is moving forward with future implementation of the Smart Card fare
system. He suggested future briefings on both the Smart Card system and mobile data terminals. Mr. McKenna instructed staff to schedule those briefings. |

4. | General Manager's Report | |||
Rick Walsh, General Manager, Transit Division, discussed additional security at the bus tunnel and
on the buses. He answered questions from the members regarding the hybrid bus tour which was held prior to the meeting. Jim Boon, Manager, Vehicle Maintenance, Department of Transportation, answered questions from the members regarding the hybrid bus. |

Division, and Rick Walsh, General Manager, Transit Division, answered questions from the members. |
