Presentation to Brooke Caddock of the Nancy Buchanan Above & Beyond Award for Service to |
|
the Council and the Citizens of King County |
|
Mr. Phillips made remarks about Brooke's dedication and all of her achievements. Mr. von |
|
Reichbauer gave some history on the Above & Beyond Award and presented the award to Brooke. |
|
Mr. Gossett commented on his staff member, Nancy Buchanan, in whose memory the award was |
|
created. Mr. Phillips, Mr. Gossett and Ms. Patterson read the recognition and presented it to |
|
Brooke. Brooke thanked the Council. |
Reports on Special and Outside Committees

Ms. Patterson reported on the South County Area Transportation Board. The Board refined its list |
|
of recommended Sound Transit Phase II projects and submitted it to Sound Transit staff for review |
|
and analysis. The Sound Transit staff will be looking at cost estimates, ridership, risk, construction |
|
and other issues associated with those projects and will bring information back to SCAT Board for |
|
review. |
|
Mr. Patterson briefed the Council on the Puget Sound Regional Council Executive Board. The |
|
Board had a presentation from public health officials about a potential influenza pandemic and what |
|
local leaders need to know in order to get prepared. The Board also approved an amendment to |
|
move fourteen transportation projects forward. |
|
Ms. Patterson reported on the Sound Transit Board meeting. The Board received an update on the |
|
Prosperity Partnership from Bob Drewel, Executive Director of the Puget Sound Regional Council. |
|
The Prosperity Partnership announced the completion of the regional economic strategy for the |
|
central Puget Sound region. The Board also had an overview of potential economic development |
|
benefits of the long range regional high capacity transit system. |

Mr. Constantine moved to adopt the DDES finding of fact that the final plat of Kentlake Highlands |
|
Division 1A complies with the conditions of preliminary plat approval and other applicable laws, |
|
and that the Chair is authorized to signify Council approval by signing the final plat at the end of the |
|
meeting. Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered. |
