Call to Order
The meeting of the Transportation Committee was called to order at 1:06 P.M. by Chair Pelz.

Present: Mr. Pelz, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
Excused: Mr. McKenna, Ms. Edmonds and Mr. Gossett
 
Approval of Minutes

The minutes of July 23, 2003 meeting were adopted as written.
Discussion and Possible Action

Proposed Ordinance No. 2003-0368 Ms. Lambert
AN ORDINANCE authorizing the sale of surplus county-owned property, known as the
"Redmond Shop Site," located in council district 3, to the city of Redmond.
Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2003-0368. This matter
passed out of committee subject to signatures.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 6 - Mr. Pelz, Mr. McKenna, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Gossett, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
No: 0
Excused: 1 - Ms. Edmonds

Proposed Ordinance No. 2003-0415 Mr. McKenna
AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to enter into an amendment to an
interlocal agreement with the city of Newcastle regarding improvements to Coal Creek
Parkway.
Paul Carlson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2003-0415. Linda
Dougherty, Director, King County Road Services Division was present to answer questions from the
Committee.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass. The motion
carried by the following vote:

Yes: 6 - Mr. Pelz, Mr. McKenna, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Gossett, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
No: 0
Excused: 1 - Ms. Edmonds

Proposed Substitute Motion No.
2003-0416.2
Mr. Pelz
A MOTION related to the transfer of retired vanpool vans to nonprofit organizations and
local governments to meet the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled and young county
citizens.
Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2003-0416. There was an
amendment adopted 4-0-3 with Councilmembers Gossett, McKenna and Edmonds excused.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Substitute. The
motion carried by the following vote:

Yes: 6 - Mr. Pelz, Mr. McKenna, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Gossett, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
No: 0
Excused: 1 - Ms. Edmonds
