AN ORDINANCE relating to the county property tax levies for collection in 2011, and implementing RCW 84.55.120.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The council is under an obligation by charter to enact revenue measures that support the budget appropriation ordinance for the 2011 budget. This ordinance sets the amount of property tax to be collected for the regular property tax levy, the transit levy, the unincorporated/roads levy, the conservation futures levy and the emergency medical services levy. In accordance with RCW 84.55.120, the council has given proper notice of this ordinance to the public.
SECTION 2. For collection of the property tax levies in 2011, the council hereby authorizes property tax increases over the amounts authorized for collection in 2010 as

The increases shown above are exclusive of any amounts resulting from new construction valued in 2010, any increases in value of state-assessed property for 2010 and any amounts necessary to fund tax refunds paid in 2010.
SECTION 3. A. For collection of the property tax levies in 2011, the council hereby authorizes property tax increases over the amounts authorized for collection in 2010 as follows:

The increases shown above are exclusive of any amounts resulting from new construction valued in 2010, any increases in value of state-assessed property for 2010 and any amounts necessary to fund tax refunds paid in 2010.
B. If the levy amount set forth in subsection A. of this section would cause the combined lawful levies within any levy code area in the county that is located outside of the fire districts that are a party to the Interlocal Levy Agreement, which is Attachment A to this ordinance),to exceed either the constitutional or aggregate levy rate limitations under RCW 84.52.043, or both, the county instead levies this tax for collection in 2011 in an amount equal to the maximum amount which may be levied without causing any reduction to the levy of the flood district due to those levy code areas under RCW 84.52.010, in accordance with the Interlocal Levy Agreement attached to this ordinance.
SECTION 4. Upon enactment, the clerk is directed to forward this ordinance to the assessor in accordance with RCW 84.52.070.
