A MOTION approving the annual Executive Directed Federal Lobbying report.

      WHEREAS, the metropolitan King County council and the King County executive have worked together to develop a federal agenda and desire to bring their positions on issues to the attention of the United States Congress, and
      WHEREAS, the King County executive retains the services of a federal lobbying firm to provide assistance on emerging federal issues of interest to the executive, and provide advocacy, monitoring, reporting services, grant research and assistance and other appropriation services, and coalition building, and
      WHEREAS, these emerging issues are consistent with the county adopted federal agenda, and
      WHEREAS, King County is dependent on a strong fiscal partnership with the federal government for health care technology and quality of care, transportation reform, salmon and Puget Sound recovery; and alternative energy promotion and climate change, and
      WHEREAS, the work undertaken and the outcomes for the executive are outlined in the annual Executive Directed Lobbying Report;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The King County council hereby approves the attached annual Executive Directed Lobbying report.
