WHEREAS, the 2021-2022 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19210, Section 50, Proviso P3, as amended by Ordinance 19307, Section 31, Proviso P3, requires the executive to transmit two reports showing the plan for achieving zero youth detention and for instituting a strategic planning process for the future of secure juvenile detention at the children and family justice center, and a motion approving each report, and
WHEREAS, the first report must provide a description of the process used by the executive to select the strategic planning consultant or consultants as described in the executive's proposed 2021-2022 operating budget for the department of adult and juvenile detention, and the second report must provide an interim report on the strategic planning process described in the executive's proposed 2021-2022 operating budget for the department of adult and juvenile detention, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 19210, Section 50, Proviso P3, as amended by Ordinance 19307, Section 31, Proviso P3, provides that $150,000 is released upon passage of each motion, and
WHEREAS, the council has reviewed the report submitted by the executive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The motion approving the second of two reports showing the executive's plan for achieving zero youth detention and for instituting a strategic planning process for the future of secure juvenile detention at the children and family justice center, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby passed in accordance with the 2021-2022 Biennial
