AN ORDINANCE relating to the county property tax levies for collection in 2008, and implementing RCW 84.55.120.

      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The council is under an obligation by charter to enact revenue measures that support the budget appropriation ordinance by December 1, 2007, for the 2008 budget.  This ordinance sets the amount of property tax to be collected for the regular property tax levy, the road district levy, the conservation futures levy and the emergency medical services levy.  In accordance with RCW 84.55.120, the council has given proper notice of this ordinance to the public.
      SECTION 2.  For collection of the property tax levies in 2008, the council hereby authorizes property tax increases over the amounts authorized for collection in 2007 as

The increases shown above are exclusive of any amounts resulting from new construction valued in 2007, any increases in value of state-assessed property for 2007 and any amounts necessary to fund tax refunds paid in 2007.  The increase in the regular levy includes an estimated $3,632,549 (exclusive of new construction) to be levied in accordance with a voter-approved lid lift for parks operations and an estimated $16,241,856 (exclusive of new construction) to be levied in accordance with a voter-approved lid lift for parks expansion.
 
      SECTION 3.  Upon enactment, the clerk is directed to forward this ordinance to the assessor in accordance with RCW 84.52.070.
