Title

A MOTION authorizing the chair to enter into an agreement with Paychex for payroll services.

Body

                     WHEREAS, by Resolutions FCD2019-16 and 2019-17, the King County Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors ("the Board") authorized the direct employment of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director by King County Flood Control Zone District ("the District"), and authorized the Chair and Vice Chair to execute any contracts within the Executive Committee's delegated spending authority on behalf of the District that are necessary to implement the direct employment of both positions, and

                     WHEREAS, by Resolution FCD2020-04, the Board created the positions of Engineer and Budget/Fiscal Analyst for the District, and

                     WHEREAS, by Resolution FCD2020-17, the Board created the position of Administrative Manager/Clerk of the Board for the District, and

                     WHEREAS, the District desires to meet its payroll obligations for these new positions by contracting with a professional payroll service company, Paychex, and

                     WHEREAS, the selection of Paychex as the vendor for this purpose complies with the District's procurement policies for this service;

                     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:

                     SECTION 1.  The chair of the King County Flood Control Zone District is authorized to execute an agreement with Paychex for payroll services in an amount not to exceed $10,000, and in a form acceptable to legal counsel for the District.
