Title
A MOTION appointing Michael Ramos to the King County Regional Homelessness Authority's Implementation Board as a King County council appointee for a five-year term expiring December 31, 2024.
Body
WHEREAS, the county funds programs to provide services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and
WHEREAS, in Ordinance 19039, the King County council authorized the King County executive to execute an interlocal agreement for the establishment of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority on December 11, 2019, and
WHEREAS, King County and the city of Seattle executed the interlocal agreement on December 18, 2019, and
WHEREAS, the interlocal agreement called for the creation of a Governing Committee to include two members of the King County council, and
WHEREAS, the interlocal agreement called for the creation of an Implementation Board with seats to be appointed by the King County executive and King County council;
WHEREAS, the Governing Committee empowered a nominating committee to coordinate and confer on appointments of Implementation Board members, and
WHEREAS, under the interlocal agreement, the county council is to appoint two members to the Implementation Board, and
WHEREAS, the Governing Committee is tasked with confirming Implementation Board appointees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The King County council hereby appoints Michael Ramos to the King County Regional Homelessness Authority's Implementation Board to serve as a King County council appointee for a five-year term expiring December 31, 2024, subject to
confirmation by the King County Regional Homelessness Authority's Governing Committee.
