Title

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the King County executive to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement with the city of Carnation for the disbursement of conservation futures tax levy funds appropriated under Ordinance 18409, Section 132.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  King County conservation futures tax levy funds are collected from throughout King County as a dedicated portion of property taxes, for the acquisition of open space and natural resource lands.

2.  K.C.C. chapter 26.12 established procedures for the annual allocation of conservation futures tax levy funds, which direct the conservation futures citizens committee to make funding recommendations to the King County executive, to consider for inclusion in the annual budget ordinance.

3.  The executive has received and considered the conservation futures citizens committee funding recommendations and has included them in 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 132, in which the King County council appropriated conservation futures funds to several city open space projects, including the city of Carnation project described in Attachment B to this ordinance.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The King County executive is hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement with the city of Carnation, containing language substantially similar to that in Attachment A to this ordinance, necessary for the disbursement of conservation futures tax levy funds appropriated under 2017-2018

Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 132, for the city of Carnation open space project listed and described in Attachment B to this ordinance.
