AN ORDINANCE changing the name of Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The governance board of Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority has determined that it would be in the best interest of the department to change its name to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, in recognition of its potential annexation of the City of Tukwila Fire Department and Maple Valley Fire and Rescue.

2.  The department adopted Resolution No. 108 on June 20, 2016, resolving to change the name of the district from Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The metropolitan King County council approves the change in the

name of Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, in accordance with RCW 52.30.060.
